7th International Conference
on Problems of Ukrainian Terminology

"SlovoSvit 2002", the 7th International Conference on Problems of Ukrainian Terminology, will take place at Lviv Polytechnic University in Lviv on September 24-26, 2002. The conference is sponsored by the Ukrainian Ministry of Education and Science, Lviv Polytechnic University, the Shevchenko Scientific Society, the Ukrainian Terminological Center of America and Canada, and other organizations.

The themes of the conference will include the following:

  • Theoretical principles of terminological knowledge and lexicography
  • Lexicography and interrelationships among languages
  • Normalization and standardization of terminology
  • Terminology of the natural sciences
  • Terminology of humanitarian sciences

This year's conference will held in memory of the late Anatole Wowk, a long-time member of the Ukrainian Engineers' Society of America and the Shevchenko Scientific Society, and the author of several Ukrainian- American terminological dictionaries. A seminar honoring Anatole Wowk will be held following the opening of the conference, on September 24, 2002.
